The research carried out by EVER members spans most of the different groups of early vertebrates (thelodonts, heterostracans, acanthodians, chondrichthyans, placoderms and osteichthyans, including the putative early vertebrate group the conodonts) and focuses on their evolution and diversification. Our research projects employ a diverse and multidisciplinary approach, encompassing computed tomography, computed biomechanics or geometric morphometrics combined with more traditional paleontological lab (acid digestion and thin sections) and imaging (3D scan or SEM) techniques.
